Like everything thing else with
the interior conversions, replacing the carpet was a lot
more difficult than I imagined. I have no real pearls of wisdom,
other than to start with the right tools. I used: utility knife,
utility knife with hookbill blade, carpet scissors, and masking tape
(for marking hole locations).
Lay
the new carpet in the sun. Remove the old carpet, and lay it on
top of the new. Rough trim.
Lay the new carpet in the
truck. Match the carpet to the molded humps under the seats. Install the
front seat mounting bolts to locate the carpet. Then just start
trimming and cutting holes. At the back wall, leave the carpet
about a 1/4" from the wall to allow the back panel to slip in behind it. |
