The chrome taillights have never looked
quite right to me, at least on a black truck. I replaced them with some
"Bermuda Black" taillights from Adjure:

Fit and finish are near OEM. My only
installation tip: use the OEM screws rather than the ones provided.
If
you have condensation problems (I had mild problems), then you need to drill
a couple of tiny holes to allow the humidity to escape. Drill very
slowly and keep blowing the plastic shavings away. Drill from the
bottom up into the light. When you are just about to break through,
finish the hole off in reverse. If you get any shavings inside the
light, keep it upright and try to coax them out. If the shavings are
on the second hole (I drilled one top and bottom), and are near the hole,
then a blow gun into the opposite hole will force the shavings out of the
hole you just drilled.
Our
beds are open top and bottom, so I was concerned about water and dust
getting inside. So I cut tiny pieces of t-shirt fabric and taped them
over the holes to act as filters. |
