led light bulbs

Autolumination.com is the most comprehensive automotive LED site that I've found.   Huge selection, good tech info, reasonable prices, and quick shipping.

EBay is also a great source.  I bought some lights there not available at Autolumination from seller "V-LEDS."

'm happy with the results.  The crisp white light makes me smile every time the lights come on.  The "super white" light is a little too blue to me, but it beats the yellow of stock incandescent lights.

The chart below shows the bulb numbers and generic LED substitute size, the autolumination name (product numbers would be nice), and my comments.

Installation notes:

LED lights are polarized.  You must check to see if they light up before reinstalling the fixture.

Front map lights:  On the rear of the lens (the end that you push to turn the light on and off), there is a hook that projects up from the face of the lens and hooks over a lip in the housing to hold it in place.  The instructions circulated on these boards is wrong -- the lens is supposed to be removed from the front (windshield end) of the lens!  A PDF of the page from the service manual is here.

The outer reflector is removed by slipping a prying device on one of the long ends.  The outer reflector is no longer used, but it's a handy tray for catching the hot bulb.

Install the LED bulb and adjust the angle.

Rear passenger lights:  Similar to the front map lights, the rear lenses pry out.  But on the rears, they pry out from the switch end.  Look for the slow for a screwdriver.  Service manual PDF here.

Lower door (courtesy) lights:  These are the only difficult install.  While I have seen instructions to just pry the lens out from underneath, this is difficult and substandard.  To be able to properly secure the replacement bulb, the fixture needs to be on a bench -- which means removing the door panel.

A PDF of the page from the service manual is here.  One thing that was hard to figure out from the service manual is that you should just pull straight towards you at the top, not up.  If the three locating pins do not come out with the door panel, then remove them and install them in the door panel before attempting to re-install the panel.
