glassback

Here are some shots of the Classic Design Concepts Glassback panoramic sunroof.  It comes in a brushed stainless finish, but I had it painted.

The glass has a fuzzy and silverish look from the outside, but from the inside, it's nice and clear:

I'm going to have the headliner tidied up a bit and recovered in perforated suede.

In reading forum posts on the Glassback, the primary concern expressed was whether the sun would heat up the interior.  It doesn't.  CDC uses a special glass that is supposed to block out 95% of the UVA and UVB.  According to my unscientific  analysis, it also blocks out about 95% of the radiant heat as well.  The sun shining directly on you is barely perceptible.

It was $3,100 installed, plus the cost of painting.
